My name is Katy Hall and I’m a qualified professional Nanny from Dublin, Ireland. Resident in Switzerland since 2009, I left Zürich in 2017 and I am now based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, in the UK. I've been working as a Care Assistant since February 2018 to date.

 

 

Childcare:

In caring for your child(ren), I draw on the considerable experience gained since I qualified ten years ago (FETAC level 5/ NVQ level 2).  I have cared for all ages from 8 months to 12 years in a variety of family settings. Working in partnership with parents, my role is to support and enhance the life of the developing child in these precious years.

At every opportunity I tap into the child’s natural curiosity and creativity and encourage independence and self-care in an age-appropriate way.  Good nutrition is a special interest and I also like to spend as much time as possible outdoors with the child(ren) exploring the natural world and getting physical exercise. In every setting, however, the rules and boundaries set by the parents are respected and daily dialogue and record-keeping are key to this. Consistency, shared values and harmony are fundamental to a child’s happiness and growth.

Caring:

My experience spans 6 years from live-in care on a 1:1 basis, domiciary care and working on an NHS fraility ward at Brighton Hospital.

I have been able to bring many of my nannying skills into my role as a live-in care assistant and have just completed my NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care. I hold an up-to-date DBS which is on the update service.
